This is the first thing I was taught when I started working as a tailor in Japan years ago.

After that, I used to work for a bespoke dress brand in London and have always wanted to tell people that there are so many durable, easy to use and sophisticated sewing tools made in Japan. As the primary tools of my trade I don't compromise on their value as they directly effect the quality of my work.
All of the products sold here are used by my diverse colleagues and friends in Europe, so I would like my customers to only use what I consider to be high-quality.

 

Who we are

Wabasamiya was established in 2024 by Shino, a bespoke seamstress trained in London. While Japanese craftsmanship is already renowned worldwide, she realized that many creators are still unaware of the exceptional quality and precision of Japanese-made sewing tools. Her colleagues often admired the tools she used, inspiring her to introduce Japan’s hidden artisanal skills to a global audience.

At Wabasamiya, we carefully select and design tools that prioritize durability, precision, and efficiency, ensuring that every item enhances the creative process. Japanese artisans have spent generations perfecting their craft, producing tools with　attention to detail. Our mission is to bring these tools to creators worldwide and highlight the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.

 

In 2025, we launched our original storage brand, offering products like the mobile sewing bag and scissors case. These storage items are functional and thoughtfully designed structures, making organization effortless while appreciating the beauty of fine craftsmanship.
